Construction Begins on Lincoln Avenue and Willow Street

Posted on: Jan-13-2016

Beginning the week of January 25, Fort Collins Utilities will begin replacement of old and undersized storm sewer infrastructure on Lincoln Avenue and Willow Street. Construction is expected to last through June 2016.

Road closures will take place in three phases, impacting Willow Street from Linden Street to Lincoln Avenue, and the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Willow Street. In addition, the intersection of Linden Street and Willow Street will be closed over a one week period in February. Access to local businesses will be provided.

The project will reduce flood risks for area properties and roads by improving water drainage. It also will add water quality treatment to the area by diverting stormwater runoff to ponds in the Udall Natural Area.

Safety for residents, commuters, bike riders, pedestrians and work crews is a priority. Barricades and fences will be used to clearly mark areas of excavation that will be fenced off at night and on weekends. For your safety, please stay away from these areas and follow all detours.
