Severe Water Line Break - Update 10:30 p.m

Posted on: Mar-19-2015

Fort Collins Utilities experienced a break to a 27-inch water line Thursday evening. The affected areas are Bellvue, Laporte, northwest Fort Collins and those served by the West Fort Collins Water District.

Crews currently are repairing and re-pressurizing the water main. Customers in these areas may be experiencing service interruption or low-water pressures. Service is expected to be restored in the next several hours.

As water pressure is restored, customers may observe cloudy or rusty water. If this occurs, please take off faucet aerators and run the COLD water until it clears. It’s advised that hot water not be used until the cold water runs clear; the excess water can be used to water plants. If you have ongoing water quality concerns, call Fort Collins Utilities at 970-221-6700.
