April 18th is National Line Worker Appreciation Day.#

A message from Philip Amaya, Light & Power Director

Fort Collins enjoys nationally leading reliable electric service. Our power lines are out of sight and out of mind. That is, until a power outage.

It's easy to take our reliable electric service for granted and the hard-working men and women who provide it.

Our Line Workers are our hometown heroes and highly skilled professionals who safely and expertly do all that is required to build, maintain, and restore our electric system to serve the families and businesses in our communities.

Our Line Workers are always on, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, even in the worst weather conditions, such as intense snowstorms or blistering heat waves.

They're the friendly faces that arrive to install or restore your power.

Line Workers skillfully and safely put their lives on the line as they operate in dangerous, often grueling, conditions.

They gear up and leave their families at all hours of the night to restore power to yours.

They're first responders, mutual aid providers, community volunteers, neighbors, and silent heroes.

It's our honor to celebrate the sacrifices, hard work, and dedication of our Line Workers. Join me in celebrating our Line Workers for bravely and passionately laying it all on the line to ensure our community enjoys the best electric service.

Fort Collins Utilities monitors water quality in our water sources, treated drinking water and treated water returned to the environment.

Leaving grass clippings where they fall adds nutrients to the soil. A mulching mower chops grass into small pieces.

Turning off the faucet while shaving or brushing teeth saves water.
