Building Energy and Water Scoring Resources

Fort Collins Utilities offers resources and services to support building owners required to report building benchmarking information to the City, including energy and water consumption data access, ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® technical support, and incentive and rebates for building owners interested in improving their buildings’ score.   • Join us for a comprehensive overview of the Building Energy and Water Scoring Ordinance, including creating an ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager account, requesting data and reporting. The events will be open-house style, and participants can join at their convenience. However, those who require assistance with Portfolio Manager account creation, Xcel Energy data requests and City of Fort Collins data requests should plan to be at an event for at least two hours.

Oct. 15 – ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® Technical Training for Multifamily Properties

  • Join us for a basic overview of Portfolio Manager® and be on your way to benchmarking your multifamily properties. Through a hands-on demo, learn how to create an account, add your property and utility meters, track performance, and more. 

Determine your electric, natural gas and water providers in order to request your building’s use data. After uploading your energy and water data, remember to use the "data quality checker" tool in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. This will let you know if there is anything in your data that might need a closer look.

  • For Fort Collins Utilities electricity or water data, please complete the data request form
    • Please note: Due to the expected number of data requests, at this time Fort Collins Utilities can only provide data for each building up to twice per year. This would include one time during the year and one time for annual reporting. 
  • For Xcel Energy natural gas or electricity data, visit the Xcel Energy Benchmarking website.
  • For other transport or contract gas providers, contact the vendor directly to request data for upload into ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
