Streetlight Installation Request#
Streetlighting is installed and maintained by Fort Collins Utilities' Light & Power.
Current standards require a light at each intersection. If the distance between intersections is greater than 320 feet, the area qualifies for additional lighting.
Utilities requires that owners of property affected by a proposed streetlight reach an 80 percent consensus regarding the installation of a new streetlight. The affected properties are determined by whether the proposed streetlight may provide light to their property. To complete this step, consent must be granted on the Streetlight Request Approval Form.
In addition to gaining consensus for installation, property owners may be required to provide easements to provide a service wire to the light.
Customers who believe they qualify for a light can contact Light & Power at 970-221-6700.
