Severe Water Line Break - Restored

Water service has been restored. Fort Collins Utilities experienced a break to a 27-inch water line that caused water service interruptions to the residents of Bellvue and Laporte areas. Customers in northwest Fort Collins and those served by the West Fort Collins Water District may have noticed low-water pressure.

Although service has been restored, Overland Trail will remain closed from Vine Drive to Bingham Hill Road until final repairs are completed.

As water pressure returns, customers may observe cloudy or rusty water. If this occurs, please take off faucet aerators and run the COLD water until it clears. It's advised that hot water not be used until the cold water runs clear; the excess water can be used to water plants.

If you have ongoing water quality concerns or other questions, call Fort Collins Utilities at 970-221-6700.

Did You Know?

Visual indicators of algal blooms in waterbodies often include: surface scum, foam, floating algae mats, off-colors and/or the presence of dead fish.

When it rains and as snow melts, runoff carries pollutants such as oil, antifreeze and gas down storm drains, contaminating our rivers, streams and lakes. Don't drip and drive.

Lowering the water-heater temperature to the lowest comfortable setting saves money.
