LEAP Mobile Unit Coming to Fort Collins Nov. 16

Fort Collins Utilities’ Income-Qualified Assistance Program (IQAP) partners with the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) to save customers money on their utility bills. To qualify for IQAP, households must receive assistance from LEAP, which provides home heating assistance to low-income households with incomes up to 60% of the state median income.

LEAP will have a mobile unit in Fort Collins on Saturday, Nov. 16, to help local households sign up for the program on a walk-in basis. Individuals must bring an ID, copy of their heating bill, and 60 days of income verification for all adults in the household or a social security benefit award.

IQAP is a reduced electric, water and/or wastewater rate that provides 23% off certain elements of these services. In addition to the rate discount, IQAP participants can benefit from additional money-saving opportunities through home efficiency and educational activities throughout the year. Savings vary depending on heating fuel, electric and water usage, home type and level of participation in the program.
