Payment Assistance Fund Helps Keep Utility Services On for Residents in Need
Posted on: Dec-01-2016
Having the electricity or water turned off for non-payment is a reality for many Fort Collins residents. To prevent this, Fort Collins Utilities' Payment Assistance Fund is available to help families, senior citizens and others in need stay current with their water and electric bills and avoid having their services turned off.The Payment Assistance Fund is supported entirely by donations. A partnership with Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC) matches donations dollar-for-dollar and provides more households with the much-needed assistance. Even with the additional funds, the need continually exceeds the available resources and, unfortunately, families are turned away.
Help those in need with a one-time or monthly donation to the Payment Assistance Fund. One hundred percent of donations help Fort Collins residents. Donations can be made online, added to a utility bill payment or by cash and check. All donations, no matter the size, make a difference.
To apply for assistance, contact EOC at 1-866-HEAT-HELP (1-866-432-8435). To make a donation or to learn more about the program, visit https://www.fcgov.com/paf , call 970-212-2900, V/TDD 711 or stop by 222 Laporte Ave.
