Posted on: Jan-24-2013
Put the sun to work – install a solar photovoltaic (PV) system on your home or business and receive a rebate. Fort Collins Utilities will accept rebate applications on a first-come, first-served basis starting January 28.Rebates of $1.75 per watt, up to $5,250 for residential installations and $17,500 for commercial installations, are available to electric customers. On-bill financing also is available. Applications are online at https://www.fcgov.com/solar-rebates and can be submitted electronically to utilities@fcgov.com.
You will receive full credit for the electricity generated by your PV system through net metering. Pre-approved systems installed by a qualified contractor are eligible. Check with your installer about possible federal tax credits.
If requests exceed available funding, Utilities will hold a drawing on March 1 to award rebates. Applicants who do not receive a rebate will be placed on a wait list.
