Police Investigate Suspicious Incidents
Fort Collins Police Services would like the community to exercise extra caution following reports of a male making unwanted advances and assaulting women in the community in the last several weeks.
Fort Collins Police Services has received five reports of a male making unwanted advances, and in three of the incidents, physically assaulting women. In each case the woman was outside alone and none of the women received serious injuries.
The incidents have occurred approximately between Shields St and Taft Hill Rd and W. Prospect and W. Drake Roads and occur in the early to late evening hours.
The cases appear to be related as a similar suspect description was given in each of the incidents. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 30-35 years of age, approximately 5'7" to 5'8" tall, medium to slightly heavy build with short to shaved hair. Citizens are reminded to always use caution, be in groups, carry a cell phone and be aware of one's surroundings.
Anyone who has contact or witnesses this male come in contact with someone else is asked to call 911 for immediate assistance. Anyone with any knowledge of these past incidents or who may have information regarding a suspect is encouraged to call Detective Jim Lenderts at (970) 416-2949 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868.
