Bicycle and Pedestrian Projects#

Magnolia and Shields
The City is planning to install a signal dedicated to pedestrians and bicyclists crossing Shields at Magnolia. Based on neighborhood feedback, the City has revised the design options and timeline for the Shields and Magnolia Bicycle and Pedestrian Signal project. This project helps complete the Magnolia Bikeway, a Safe Routes to School Corridor, and the continuation of the W. Mulberry east-west bike route. The selected design is now anticipated for construction in late spring/early summer 2021 (which has been delayed due to COVID-19 construction impacts).
W. Elizabeth and Ponderosa
Located along the north-south Hampshire Bikeway, this completed project provides a dedicated bicycle and pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Ponderosa and W. Elizabeth. The Hampshire Bikeway connects Poudre High School on the north with the Spring Creek Trail on the south, providing access to schools, parks, neighborhoods and other destinations along the way.
Columbia and Lemay
Located along the Columbia Bikeway, this crossing improvement will provide a dedicated bicycle and pedestrian signal at the intersection of Columbia and Lemay. This project is planned for construction beginning in March 2021 with anticipated completion in late spring.
