Police Explorers#
Interested in exciting and fun opportunities in law enforcement? Fort Collins Police Services offers training and experience for youth and young adults ages 15 through 20 in the Police Explorer program (21 or older? See below).
The Fort Collins Police Explorer program acquaints young people with the field of law enforcement as a future career choice. Explorers receive ongoing police training through instruction, hands-on practical exercises, and valuable real-world experiences. Police Explorers not only receive training but regularly assist patrol officers with their duties. Police Explorers are required to attend regular meetings and training sessions.
Requirements#
Police Explorer requirements include:
- must be at least 15 years old but no older than 20;
- must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of Larimer County
- must possess a valid Colorado driver's license or permit
- must pass a background check
- no felony arrests/convictions
Members of the community are encouraged to join the Fort Collins Police Explorer Program. Agency training and all uniforms and equipment are furnished by Fort Collins Police Services.
