CIRT Activated for Officer Involved Shooting
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, there was an officer involved shooting in the 700 block of Eastdale Dr. in Fort Collins, CO.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) officers responded to an argument at a residence on Eastdale Dr. where a male suspect was armed with a knife. Officers located the suspect outside the home and gave commands for him to drop the weapon, but he refused to cooperate. Officers used less lethal tools; however, the suspect still refused to comply. An FCPS officer then fired his handgun, striking the suspect, and immediately called for medical response. The suspect was placed into custody and transported to a local area hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
No officers or members of the public were injured and there is no continued threat to the community. The Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been activated. The lead investigative agency is the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and any additional information regarding this incident will come from them.
