The City of Fort Collins Forestry Division invites community members to attend an open house on Saturday, March 2 to discuss proposed initiatives of the Urban Forest Strategic Plan, Rooted in Community. The open house will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Harmony Library (4616 S. Shields St.).

In October 2023 the Forestry Division hosted two community open houses and shared an online survey seeking the community’s participation. As a result of these engagement efforts, approximately 1,000 community members shared their feedback with the City which was compiled for consideration for the final plan draft. Now, the City seeks to engage the Fort Collins community once again to share findings and gather additional input ahead of the Council Work Session scheduled for March 26 and plan finalization.

“We’re thrilled to once more invite the community to join us in shaping the future of our urban forest,” says Kendra Boot, City Forester. “This open house is a great opportunity for residents to learn about the progress we have made based on their feedback and to provide additional insights as we finalize the strategic plan. We look forward to engaging with the community and ensuring that their voices continue to be heard about the trees in Fort Collins.”
