FORT COLLINS, CO – On Monday, May 13, the City, Homeward 2020, and several community service providers will host the Community Forum on Homelessness Solutions at First Presbyterian Church (531 College Avenue) from 6 – 8 p.m.

The purpose of the event is to inform community members on ways organizations in Fort Collins are providing strategic supportive services to the community for those experiencing homelessness. It is a chance to learn about solutions that work to reduce homelessness and the identified gaps our community still needs to fill so we can sufficiently make homelessness rare, short-lived, and non-recurring. Light refreshments will be provided by Lucky’s Market and childcare and interpretation services will be available to those who request it.

“We know what to do to address homelessness. However, the strategies we implement are at too small a scale to overcome the multiple and persistent causes of homelessness,” said Holly LeMasurier, Director of Homeward 2020. “The good news is that our local data, coordination, and collaboration are more effective than ever. The next step is clear. We need to grow more public understanding and investment in specific interventions proven to work. The Fort Collins response system is ready to scale up efforts but needs to match an appropriate level of resources to meet the growing needs. This forum aims to inform and inspire the community with knowledge of the solutions and local successes.”

Those interested in attending and in need of childcare or interpretation services can email YmRlcGV3QGZjZ292LmNvbQ== or call 970-221-6595.
