  • Degree in Meteorology from University of Wisconsin-Madison
  • Mike has been married to Cindy since 1981, they have two children Christiana & Anders).

Worked in Madison WI for Weather Central Consulting Nov. 1976-June 1985 (WKOW, WXOW, WQOW, WAOW)

  • On air for the Wisconsin TV Network July 1977 June 1985
  • While at Weather Central was a part of a small group of people who developed the first TV weather computers
  • Did sales and deliveries of weather computers all over the entire US and Canada while at Weather Central
  • Forecasting for 40 radio stations and Department of Transportation in 2 states (Iowa, Wisconsin)
  • Oversaw 20 forecasters on a daily basis
  • Worked at KMOV-TV Channel 4 April 1985 1991 as Chief Meteorologist
  • Won two (2) Regional Emmys while at KMOV-TV
  • Developed his Weather Presentation Tornado Dance while at KMOV-TV
  • Visited about 100 schools a year
  • Hosted the VP Fair Parade for 3 consecutive years

KMGH TV Chief Meteorologist June 2004 to present

  • Has won one (1) Regional Emmy for Best Weathercaster while at KMGH
  • Won Colorado Broadcaster Association (CBA)Best Weathercaster Award March 2007
  • Mike has also written a local best seller, "The Colorado Weather Book."
  • Writing a new book: The Colorado Weather Almanac 2007
  • Continues to visit schools all over Colorado and Wyoming (120 schools a year)
  • Works with non-profits as emcee and critical fundraiser.
