Fraudulent Business Scam Targets Fort Collins Utilities

Fort Collins Utilities cautions customers, in particular local businesses, to be aware of calls coming from phone numbers other than 970-212-2900 that threaten disconnection for non-payment.Remember:
•Employees make courtesy calls to customers with delinquent accounts via 970-212-2900. These accounts have outstanding balances that are past-due, and customers would already have received a pink disconnection notice.
•Utilities field employees wear uniforms and carry appropriate identification.
•Employees never meet customers to accept payment.
If there are any doubts about an incoming phone call, customers are encouraged to hang up and dial 970-212-2900 or make their payment online at https://www.fcgov.com/utilities .
