Mike's Corner:
Congratulations to Doug Johnson, Economic Development Council of Colorado's Volunteer of the Year 2009

The EDCC presents the Volunteer of the Year award to an outstanding non-practicing economic development professional volunteer in Colorado who has demonstrated a multi-year commitment to the vitality, growth and sustainability of the Colorado economy.

Doug Johnson retired early for Hewlett Packard and immediately became engaged in assisting entrepreneurs and individuals who had been laid off from hi-tech jobs. He is the founding members of NoCo Net, a seven year old organization that helps unemployed technology-field individuals network and find employment through shared prospects and resources. Doug is an active volunteer with the Small Business Development Center and currently runs the SAGE mentoring program for RMII.

Doug was honored with this award on May 20th. Volunteers such as Doug are tremendous advocates and sources of knowledge for our community's entrepreneurs and start-up companies. Thank you Doug!
