Sales Tax Update
May sales tax collections are based on retail sales made in April 2010.
Sales tax collections: $4,923,939, an increase of 5.6 percent compared to May 2009. The May collections are $123,764 higher than the amount expected according to the sales tax seasonal patterns.
Use tax collections: $1,163,676, an increase of 91 percent compared to May 2009. The City is ahead of budget projections for the month by $242,319 when compared to historical data.
National collections: May sales tax collections (from April retail sales) increased 9.6 percent compared to Fort Collins increase of 5.6 percent.
Building permit collections: increased 62.5 percent.
Permits pulled:
- Residential:
- New Construction: 15 (11 in May 2009)
- Remodeling: 53 permits (67 in May 2009).
- Commercial:
- New construction: 1 (0 in May 2009)
- Remodeling: 18 (19 in May 2009)
Sales tax licenses: 68 net new licenses were issued.
