The City of Fort Collins will host three briefing sessions in March for the public to learn more about the Affordable Housing Land Bank and how they can get involved with the program.
Sessions will cover the history and purpose of the Land Bank, how it will be used to support affordable housing in Fort Collins, and upcoming policy changes.
The Land Bank program is Fort Collins' only long-term affordable housing tool. Between escalating land prices and the realities of a fixed Growth Management Area (GMA), this program ensures land will be available in the future to increase the stock of affordable housing units. The strategy is to acquire sites and hold them until development brings supporting infrastructure to the area, allowing the City to distribute affordable housing throughout the community.
