The Carnegie Center for Creativity (Carnegie) offers space for community artists to showcase their art and talent in a large visual arts gallery and space for arts-and-culture performances and events. These spaces are available for a nominal rental fee to artists who would like to share their art with the community.
Gallery: Over 2500 s.f. with up to 210 linear feet available to rent by the week the Main Gallery exhibition space is available first-come, first-served up to one year in advance and is not curated. Weekly rates vary from $108-$585. Have a solo exhibit or gather friends to share the space. Rentals are available on a weekly basis up to a year in advance. Visual artists are responsible for the installation within guidelines provided in their reservation contract. The Carnegie provides an Installation Coordinator who will meet with the artists to review the installation guidelines, oversee the installation process, light the exhibit, and consult with any questions you may have.
Idea Lab: Need a place for smaller performances, readings, to imagine new beginnings, strategize with co-workers, or offer a presentation or clean hand-on classes or workshops? The Idea Lab is for you. Furniture can be arranged for your needs and accommodates up to 49 people. Floor to ceiling windows offer a great tree-top view into Library Park. Our creative vibe will get your imaginative juices flowing! Rentals are available hourly basis during open building hours and at the discretion of the Carnegie staff.
Art Classroom: This classroom is where you can really get your hands dirty and make your own art. It is available for teachers to rent in 3-hour blocks. You gather your own students and collect any registration fees. There’s a clean-up sink just down the hall. Large tables will accommodate 15-20 students, depending on the arrangement. Teachers are responsible for registering and charging fees for their students.
Performance rentals are available in the gallery on an hourly basis for Wednesday–Saturday evenings, 6–9 p.m. up to a year in advance. Performers and presenters are responsible for managing their own performances within guidelines provided in their reservation contract. Performance dates are not available on First Friday evenings, unless they are free and open to the public and are otherwise coordinated with the Carnegie Center for Creativity. Total capacity is 150, including staff and volunteers.
Event rentals: While primary use of the Carnegie is for artists, the gallery may also be rented for non-arts-related events such as corporate retreats, meetings, etc., with some restrictions. Existing art installations may not be covered, disturbed or altered for the purposes of an Event Rental. The Heritage Courtyard is also available for event rentals. Total event capacity is 150, including staff and volunteers.
Public Hours: Wednesdays–Saturdays, noon–6 p.m., with extended hours on First Friday Gallery Walk evenings (6pm – 9pm).
Full Gallery (approximately 2,250 s.f.): $485/week and $585/week during a First Friday week. First Friday week includes a First Friday Art Walk Reception, hosted by the Carnegie with beverages included.

Gallery B: $151/week, $189/First Friday week
Gallery C: $108/week, $134/First Friday week

Gallery Rentals are priced by linear wall space.
Gallery Reception (outside of public hours):
$40/hr; including set up and take down, $15/hr for staff. Capacity: 150, including staff and volunteers.
$40/hr; 2-hour minimum. Capacity: 49, including staff and volunteers.
Arts Class Rates for 3-hour blocks: $65/block. $52/block when you reserve 3 or more blocks at one time. Capacity: 30, including staff and volunteers.
Performances and Events:
$95/hour; 3-hour minimum ($85/hour for IRS 501C(3) non-profit organizations); Additional fees apply. Total capacity: 150, including staff and volunteers.
All rental prices are subject to change.
The Carnegie will provide staff for all gallery, event, and classroom rental periods. There is an additional staffing fee for rental outside of regular hours and large events.

NOTE: Full payment of rental fees, damage deposits and a signed contract are required to reserve a space. Reservations will be confirmed with the applicant upon full completion of all requirements. Carnegie Staff has the right to make final determination regarding rental reservations. Renters should read the full Carnegie Center for Creativity Guidelines before making a Rental Request.
Spaces become available one year in advance, corresponding to the first date if the rental. Weekly rentals begin on Monday and end on Sunday. Contact the Carnegie staff if you have questions. Rentals are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
