Business Diversion Rates Strong

The 2012 numbers are in! The City’s Waste Reduction and Recycling program reports that households and businesses continue to support a citywide effort to divert materials from the landfill.

The 2012 rates:
Residential/commercial: 43%
Industrial: 70%
Community (residential, commercial, industrial): 58%

The City of Fort Collins is committed to helping increase the amount of recycling and composting taking place in local businesses. As part of a suite of new programs, the City now offers financial incentives to local businesses that start a recycling or composting program. As part of this new service, on-site assessments and education are also available at no charge. Business can obtain suggestions for how to start a program and assistance in getting the program up and going.
