Volunteer Biodiversity Survey
The Nature in the City Biodiversity Project is a citizen science program to monitor birds and butterflies around Fort Collins. The goal is to collect long-term ecological data that will help support the Nature in the City Strategic Plan to maintain "a connected open space network accessible to the entire community that provides a variety of experiences and functional habitat for people, plants, and wildlife." The next training will be in 2019.
Nature in the City involves extensive public outreach, including open houses, workshops, interactive maps and more! In 2018, the Nature in the City program will be sponsoring or attending the following events:
June 18-24: Native Plants Week
July 21: NoCo Urban Homestead Tour
September 15: Nature’s Harvest Fest
