Latiné and Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Hispanic Heritage Month at The Gardens#

This month, we’re celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with special programming that highlights the vibrant spirit of community and culture. From art to storytelling, join us in honoring the rich diversity of Latino culture. As the month flows into Día de Muertos, our spaces will be transformed with beautiful ofrendas and monarch butterflies, inviting reflection, remembrance and connection.

Ofrendas in the Community Room + Monarchs in Butterfly House

Honor loved ones and experience the beauty of this meaningful tradition at The Gardens. Visit the Community Room to view ofrendas created by staff and community members, and take part in our interactive Monarch Wall—write a message to a loved one and hang it on a tree branch  decorated with paper butterflies. Then step into the Butterfly House to see monarchs—a symbol of remembrance and renewal—fluttering among the blooms.

Dia de Muertos Family Memory Workshop

Saturday, Nov. 1 | 1:30–3:30 p.m. | $35

In this reflective workshop, participants will respond to themed prompts inspired by the Mexican celebration of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), exploring personal stories centered on family, tradition, food, celebration, and memory. You'll have the opportunity to write, share stories in community, and honor your loved ones by contributing to a mini altar (ofrenda).
