Our Outdoor Classroom#

The Gardens is the place to be when school is not in session!  Join us on teacher workdays, spring break and all summer for fun, experiential garden adventures!  Each camp is specially designed to match the season and are full of garden-centric games, exploration and art, music and cooking.  Activities are especially suitable for children having completed kindergarten through completed fourth grade.

Pre-registration is required for all camps.  Scholarships are available.  A 10 percent discount is offered with a family membership to The Gardens. Camp is held outdoors, so children should be dressed for the weather, bring water and wear sunscreen and a hat (if preferred).  The Gardens does not provide meals so please pack a lunch and two snacks.

Children may be dropped off as early as 8:30 a.m. and picked up as late as 4:30 p.m., but camp programming will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The Gardens close at 5 p.m.

Garden Explorers Clubhighlight_off
kids exploring the gardens

Come make friends and learn what it takes to be a Junior Master Gardener. Each afternoon students will have time to safely explore The Gardens with a small group of friends, practice reading all about gardens and the animals that live there at age appropriate levels, and engage in hands-on garden STEM. Garden STEM lessons are structured to support grade specific science standards being taught in school through fun place-based learning.

This four-week program is designed to provide elementary students (Kindergarten through fifth grade) a chance to learn all about gardening, socialize and explore safely with a small set group of peers in a primarily outdoor setting.

Winter Session - Fridays  |  2 - 5 p.m. (Drop off from 2:00 - 2:45)

  • Participants must register for the four-week session we cannot separate days.
  • We will spend 85%-99% of our time outdoors (depending on COVID19 guidelines), so students must dress for the weather. In situations of hazardous weather we will move indoors as long as COVID-19 allows but notify parents if they would like to pick up their students.
  • Groups are limited to 10 students and masks are required unless we are outside, socially distanced and stationary.
