The Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks left an indelible mark on people and politics not only in America, but around the globe. That fateful day also had a lasting effect on our community here in Northern Colorado.
Colorado Task Force 1- Urban Search and Rescue, a federal disaster response team, deployed 62 Coloradoans—including seven firefighters from the Poudre Fire Authority—to New York City to assist with urban search and recovery. By telling their story, we acknowledge that the response to tragedy defines a community more than the tragedy itself.
Paving the Way#
Make the 9/11 Memorial at Spring Park a reality! Three hundred forty-three memorial paving stones will honor the 343 firefighters who perished in the attacks on 9/11. The pavers are a local tribute for these courageous firefighters who gave their lives trying to save others. Six different sizes are available for sponsorship and lay the financial foundation for our capital campaign.
