My series Colorado Pollinators: Bees, Hummingbirds and Beetles coordinates well with Willow Sedam’s designs of butterflies, caterpillars and moths. Bees are the best-known of all pollinators; less celebrated groups include hummingbirds and beetles (along with butterflies, wasps, flies and other insects). These designs mostly feature flowers native to Colorado and the birds, bees and beetles that pollinate them that are commonly found in our state. The murals are designed with pleasing color combinations and small labels will serve to educate interested residents and passers-by.
