Bustling Beetles

Becca Black
Art in Action Tent, south of Old Town Square on Mountain Avenue

Bustling Beetles is about exploring composition and color with beetles! Beetles and insects have a brilliant history and connection to the arts. Becca has always admired their beauty, but fell more in love with all of their vibrancy when she first learned about their use in pigments. Paint making has a rich history and various insects are used in the creation of colors we still use today.

Becca was born and raised in Fort Collins. She was brought up in the Poudre School District and graduated from Colorado State University in the Fall of 2013 with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting with a concentration in Education.

She started teaching at Fossil Ridge High School in the fall of 2014 and has been sharing her love of art ever since. She cannot wait to continue spreading her love of painting and all things art with her hometown community.
