We’d like to introduce one of the City of Fort Collins’ newest employees, Tom Leeson, the new Redevelopment Program Manager. Tom will oversee the Fort Collins Urban Renewal Authority and assist with redevelopment projects across City departments.
Tom Leeson, AICP, is a land use planning and real estate development professional with 15 years’ -experience. The City is excited to have Tom on staff as he has extensive knowledge in both public and private sector planning, and practical real estate development experience. Most recently, Tom worked for the City of Steamboat Springs as Director of Planning and Community Development. He has worked in multiple other jurisdictions, as well as for Clarion Associates in Fort Collins.
Tom states, “I am looking forward to working with the City of Fort Collins and the Fort Collins Fort Collins Urban Renewal Authority to implement redevelopment goals and to help encourage a vibrant and resilient economy through redevelopment efforts.”
What makes redevelopment interesting and exciting? For Tom, that means working on projects that contribute positively to the urban fabric. To him, the best projects are those with a focus on the quadruple bottom line, concerned not only with the old-fashioned financial bottom line, but more broadly for economic viability, environmental respect, social responsibility and beautiful design.
Tom has a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado, as well as a Masters in Real Estate Development from the University of Maryland.
Feel free to contact Tom and welcome him to his new job at the City of Fort Collins, (970) 224-2231, or dGxlZXNvbkBmY2dvdi5jb20=.
