Transfort launches system Optimization Plan

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Transfort, the public transportation operator for the City of Fort Collins, announced today the launch of an Optimization Plan to assess existing transit service and prioritize elements of the City’s Transit Master Plan to determine the best way to deliver transit service to the community within Transfort's budget.

“We’re evaluating how our transit system operates today to identify ways to deliver better service with the resources we have,” Transfort Director Kaley Zeisel said. “This plan is about aligning community priorities with what’s financially sustainable.”

The community is encouraged to share feedback on proposed scenarios at the following events. Community members will be able to view proposed service maps and chat with staff.

FoCo EcoFest

  • Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Washington Park, 301 Maple St.

Transfort Open House

  • Monday, June 16, 12-1 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Downtown Transit Center, 250 N. Mason

Bike to Work Day

  • Wednesday, June 25, 6:30-9:30 a.m.
  • South Transit Center, 5001 Fossil Blvd. and Wolverine Farm Publick House, 316 Willow St.

Community members can also provide input by visiting the project website fcgov.com/TOP to subscribe for updates, learn more about the project and participate in the survey open through July 9.
