Planning and Zoning Board
Remote Meeting Participation
COVID-19 Impact on Board and Commission Meetings
Due to guidance from health officials, including County and State safer-at-home orders, Board and Commission meetings are not being held in City buildings. Meetings are being conducted online and only remote public participation is possible.
The online platform Zoom is being used to facilitate City Council meetings because of its ease of use and outstanding accessibility. Due to recent software upgrades by Zoom and the City's proactive steps to manage the platform, earlier concerns about cybersecurity have been mitigated. Additionally, all community members participating through Zoom will be automatically muted when they join the meeting, and their video feeds will not be displayed to City staff or other participants.
For instructions on how to access the meeting online or by phone, review the instructions in the Summary Agenda for the meeting (below) or review this detailed instruction guide. If you are encountering difficulties connecting to the meeting, please see Zoom's troubleshooting info. If you have questions about participating in development review meetings remotely, please contact Alyssa Stephens, Neighborhood Development Liaison, at 970-224-6076 or YXN0ZXBoZW5zQGZjZ292LmNvbQ==.

The Planning and Zoning Board's responsibilities include making recommendations to the City Council regarding zoning, annexations, major public and private projects and any long range planning activities (such as City Plan or subarea plans) that require Council approval.
The Board is also the final decision making authority regarding land use proposals including overall development plans, project development plans and any planned unit developments that remain from the City's previous land use regulations. In addition, the Board coordinates with the Poudre and Thompson school districts and the Larimer County Planning Commission.
Some knowledge of Land Use Code is helpful. Requires 15 to 20 hours a month.
