Fort Collins Utilities and Peak Partners Take Home Consumer Education Award

Posted on: Mar-08-2017

The Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative (SGCC) named Fort Collins Utilities as the winner of its 2017 Utility CLEAR Consumer Education Award for serving as a role model within the industry and providing its customers proven and innovative ways to save energy. Utilities' Peak Partners program, which began in 2014, was particularly influential in the panel's decision.

SGCC is a nonprofit organization that works to learn the wants and needs of energy consumers, share best practices in consumer engagement and educate the public about the benefits of the smart grid. The criteria for selection were based on five behaviors and how they make smart grid concepts CLEAR to the public: Consumers first, Leadership, Excellence, Authenticity and Results.

"Peak Partners and Fort Collins Utilities are honored to receive this award," said Pablo Bauleo, Peak Partners program manager and Utilities energy services engineer. "We strive to be a data-driven utility, and data can take many forms. By combining sensor and customer survey statistics, we were able to improve the technology and provide a better experience for our customers."

Peak Partners is an integrated demand response and energy efficiency program, including Wi-Fi thermostats, controllers for electric water heaters and energy monitors. To sign up or for more information, visit http://peakpartnersfortcollins.com , call 855-350-1464 or V/TDD 711.
