New On-Bill Financing Option for Home Energy Projects
Posted on: Feb-01-2013
Fort Collins Utilities now offers on-bill financing, a low-cost loan program for residential energy efficiency, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and water conservation improvements. Homeowners can conveniently repay the loan on their monthly utility bill.Projects include insulation and air sealing; windows; heating and cooling equipment (furnace, air conditioner, whole house fan, water heater); solar PV; and water service line repair or replacement.
Loans range from $1,000-15,000 and can be up to 100 percent of the eligible project cost. It is hoped the range will encourage homeowners to complete projects with multiple measures, such as adding attic insulation and replacing a furnace. Approval typically takes less than one day.
The interest rate and loan term vary by loan amount and credit score, ranging from 5.25-7.25 percent. See chart online or contact Utilities for more information.
