June sales tax collections are based on retail sales made in May 2010.
Sales tax collections: $5,225,451, an increase of 0.3 percent compared to June 2009. Year-to-date, the first six months of 2010 have shown a slight increase in collections. As of June 2010 sales tax collections are up 2 percent compared to collections from January-June 2009.
Use tax collections: $883,161, an increase of 141.4 percent compared to June 2009. The use tax collections year-to-date are up 28 percent compared to collections for the first six months of 2009.
National collections: June sales tax collections (from May retail sales) increased 7.4 percent compared to Fort Collins’ increase of 0.3 percent.
Building permit collections: increased 505.7 percent in June.
Residential: 15, compared to 17 in June 2009. Residential remodels: 74 permits. In June 2009 there were 73 remodel permits.
Commercial: 2 permits for new construction, 28 for remodeling. In June 2009 zero permits were pulled for new construction, 16 permits for remodeling.
Sales tax licenses: 107 net new licenses were issued.
