FORT COLLINS, Colo. – As of 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 South Shields Street is closed to traffic between West Drake Road and Rocky Mountain Way due to a gas leak within an existing construction area. The leak was discovered around 1 p.m. Thursday; crews and emergency services are on the scene and working to ensure safe repairs.

The intersections of Shields and Drake and Shields and West Horsetooth Road are both impacted. Drivers should avoid using Shields, Horsetooth and Drake in this area if possible to avoid delays.

Timeline for repairs and road reopening are currently undetermined.
