Police Investigate Fatal Train vs Pedestrian Collision

On February 1, 2022 at 5:46 PM, Fort Collins Police were notified of a pedestrian vs train collision adjacent to the 3100 block of McClelland Drive.

The pedestrian, an adult male was pronounced deceased on scene. Due to this being a fatal collision, the Fort Collins Police CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to investigate the collision. At this time, officers are investigating the circumstances as to why the male was on the train tracks. Due to length of the train, the intersection of Horsetooth and McClelland was blocked during the investigation and until train procedures were completed.
