Police Investigate Truck vs Motorcycle Collision

On June 16, 2021 at approximately 6:35 PM, Fort Collins Police were notified of a motorcycle verse truck collision at the intersection of South College Avenue and Arthur Drive. A 2014 Dodge Ram pick up truck was initially travelling northbound on College Avenue and made a U-turn at Arthur Drive to go southbound on College Avenue. A 2005 Suzuki SV650 motorcycle was travelling southbound on College Avenue when it collided with the Dodge Ram.

The driver of the motorcycle, an adult male was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The two occupants inside the Dodge Ram were uninjured in the collision. Due to the severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries, the Fort Collins Police CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded.

South College was closed from Prospect Road through Arthur Drive for approximately four hours while investigators processed the scene. “These incidents have lasting impacts for both the involved parties and those who witnessed the collision. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time,” said Corporal Shane Hasebroock who is a member on the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team.
