City trail users can participate in a new, self-guided scavenger hunt to help mark the opening of new trails in northwest Fort Collins.
The trails, which link Irish Elementary, the Puente Verde Natural Area, and Lincoln Middle School to the Poudre Trail, opened earlier this summer.
The new trail segments are hard surface from Vine Drive to the Poudre Trail, and soft surface from Vine Drive to Taft Hill Road through Puente Verde. A new signalized crossing was also installed at Vine Drive to increase safety for trail users.
The scavenger hunt asks participants five questions, with the answers found along the trail. Those who complete the scavenger hunt by Labor Day can submit answers by e-mail for a chance to win prizes. A map and directions for the scavenger hunt can be found at fcgov.com/nwtrailconnections.
The City held a small ribbon cutting for the trails on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
