Police Investigate Serious Collision

On May 12, 2020 at approximately 06:01 AM, Fort Collins Police were made aware of a three car collision in the 2900 block of Carpenter Road which is also Colorado State Highway 392. Due to the severity of the crash, the Fort Collins Police CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to investigate the incident.

Officers were able to determine that a 1994 Subaru Legacy driven by a 22-year-old male was travelling westbound on Carpenter Road when it struck the side of a 2012 Ford F350 driven by a 37-year-old male that was travelling eastbound. The Subaru began to spin and then collided with a 2008 Audi A4 that was driven by a 34-year-old male that was also travelling eastbound. The driver of the Subaru was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies with life-threatening injuries. The other drivers sustained moderate injuries.

Carpenter Road was closed in both directions from Timberline Road to Larimer County Road 9 for approximately 6 hours while the scene was processed. Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Officer Ken Koski at (970) 416-2229.
