Police Investigate Serious Collision
On February 7, 2020 at 5:25 P.M., Fort Collins Police Services was notified of a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of W. Harmony Rd. and S. Shields St.
A 1993 Dodge Ram truck was traveling west on W. Harmony Rd. At the intersection of S. Shields St., a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee made a left turn from eastbound W. Harmony Rd. onto S. Shields St. The front of the Dodge Ram collided with the passenger side of the Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee continued northwest and collided with the front of a stopped Toyota Corolla.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 23-year-old male from Fort Collins, and a passenger, a 20-year-old male from Fort Collins were treated and released at the scene. The driver of the Grand Cherokee, a 22-year-old male from Berthoud, was treated and released at the scene. A 19-year-old female and 17-year-old female, both from Loveland were passengers in the Grand Cherokee. Both females were transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota, a 29-year-old female from Boulder, did not sustain injuries during the crash.
The intersection of W. Harmony Rd. and S. Shields St. was closed for approximately 5 hours while investigators processed the scene. Police are working to determine if speed contributed to the collision.
