A lane closure on eastbound Mountain Avenue in downtown Fort Collins is scheduled to begin next week for a construction project at Mountain Avenue and Mathews Street.
The lane closure is due to the placement of a crane along Mountain Avenue. The closure will provide a barrier between vehicle traffic and construction crews.
The closure will begin on Feb. 11, weather permitting, and will be from Remington Street to Mathews Street. Access to the Old Town Parking Structure will remain open.
Initially, both eastbound lanes of Mountain Avenue will be closed while the crane is set, but traffic will still be allowed to continue eastbound around the crane placement by detouring through the left turn lane. The process to set the crane will take about a day.
Following that, one eastbound lane of Mountain Avenue will remain open for the duration of the project.
Work is scheduled to end April 30, weather permitting.
