Free Christmas Tree Recycling: December 26 – January 20

December 26 through January 20, Fort Collins residents can recycle their live Christmas trees free of charge. Before dropping off, all items must be removed from the tree including lights, wire, hooks, ornaments, tinsel and fake snow.
Drop off trees at the following locations:
- Edora Park, 1420 E. Stuart St. (tennis court parking lot)
- Rolland Moore Park, 2201 S. Shields St. (southeast corner of parking lot)
- City Streets Facility, 625 Ninth St. (southwest corner of Vine and Lemay)
- Fossil Creek Park, 5821 S. Lemay Ave (enter on Lemay Ave.)
- Larimer County Landfill, 5887 S. Taft Hill Rd.
- Wellington Recycling Drop-off (Town Garage, corner of 6th and Grant)
Collected trees will chipped into mulch that will then be used for City landscaping projects and made available to the public year-round at the Timberline Recycling Center and Gardens on Spring Creek. All mulch is free of charge.
After this program ends, residents can recycle their tree at the City’s Timberline Recycling Center and other local drop-off locations for a fee. Artificial trees in good condition can be donated to local thrift stores.
