Police investigate multi-vehicle injury collision
On December 17, 2019 at approximately 10:34 p.m., Fort Collins Police Services was notified of a three-vehicle crash in the 1900 block of East Vine Drive.
A 1995 Subaru Legacy sedan, driven by a 48-year old male, was traveling westbound on East Vine Drive when it collided with a westbound 2008 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, driven by a 49-year-old female. The Subaru continued onto the eastbound lanes where it collided with an eastbound 2013 Dodge Dart, driven by an 18-year-old male.
An adult passenger seated in the Subaru Legacy was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries. The driver of the Subaru Legacy, the Dodge Dart, and the Chrysler Town and Country sustained minor injuries.
"When multi-vehicle, multi-injury situations like this happen, we're extremely grateful for our partners at UC Health and Poudre Fire Authority," said Assistant Chief Tim Doran. "Having a group of skilled, specialized first responders truly helps get everyone the care they need quickly."
Members of the Fort Collins Police Services CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to investigate. East Vine Drive between North Timberline Road and North Lemay Avenue was closed for approximately 6 hours while investigators processed the scene. Police are working to determine if speed, drugs, or alcohol were factors in the collision.
Anyone with information about the collision, who has not already given a statement to police, is asked to contact Officer Ken Koski at 970-416-2229.
