The public is invited to help celebrate the 3rd year of operations at the City of Fort Collins’ Timberline Recycling Center (1903 S. Timberline Road.) at a free family-friendly reuse and recycling event on Sunday, October 6, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Highlights of the celebration include reuse arts and crafts, children’s activities, exhibitor tables, a musical “junk jam”, drop ‘n swap, refreshments, a food truck, and of course, cake! For the drop ‘n swap, bring gently used, reusable items for a free stuff exchange sponsored by Eco Thrift (examples include: small furniture, kitchenware, small tools, and clothing in good condition). Mattresses, obsolete electronics, weapons, large items, flammable liquids, household hazardous waste, and any items that are not in usable condition will not be accepted.

Event parking is available but limited during the event. Attendees are encouraged to bike, walk, or bus to the event. Overflow parking will be available on Joseph Allen Drive and Bear Mountain Drive (near Dutch Bros Coffee), which is a 3-5 minute walk from the Recycling Center.

Attendees are also encouraged to BYOC (bring your own container) to help reduce waste at the event. Those who bring their own container (travel mug, reusable cup, etc.) for refreshments will be entered a drawing for a free entry coupon to the Timberline Recycling Center’s Hard-to-Recycle Yard.

During the event, the Timberline Recycling Center’s Hard-to-Recycle Yard will be closed. The free, everyday recyclables section (glass, bottles, cardboard, etc.) will be open for regular business during daylight hours.
