17TH Annual race draws over 500 runners for family event.

FORT COLLINS – Sun and mild temperatures marked the 17th Annual Father’s Day 5K on Sunday. The 5K drew many family-focused participants to benefit Adaptive Recreation Opportunities and reduced or no-fee youth programs. Runners and wheelchair racers were welcomed into the streets to participate in friendly competition; some competitors even brought strollers, bikes and dogs.

The race offered major prizes to winners, including cold hard cash and Altitude Running running shoes. The male winner for the NACC 1 Mile Premium was Paul Petersen and the female winner was Abby Depperschmidt.

The Father’s Day 5K offered a team registration for fathers to compete along side their son or daughter. Awards were given out to the top overall wheelchair racer, top 3 male and female overall run finishers, as well as numerous father/son and father/daughter awards. (Those results are listed below.) In addition, the Healthy Kids Fun Run took place immediately following the event. Kids of all ages (parents included) were invited to run in a non-competitive run down Remington Street and Mountain Avenue.

All results will be posted on the following website: and
