The City of Fort Collins, in collaboration with Colorado State University’s Center for Public Deliberation, will host a Community Issues Forum from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 26 in the Lincoln Center Columbine Room, 417 W. Magnolia St.

The forum will give residents an opportunity to discuss and contribute ideas and opinions on two topics:

  • Nature in the City: As Fort Collins transitions from a large suburban town to a small urban city, we want to ensure all residents have access to nature in close proximity to where they live and work. This forum is a chance to learn more about the project vision, share where residents currently access nature, and better understand what the community values in urban nature. More information is available at
  • Water Restrictions Plan Update – Fort Collins Utilities will discuss proposed changes to the City’s Water Supply Shortage Response Plan. The current plan for water restrictions was adopted in 2003 and amended in 2013; it will be updated in 2014. Changes to associated sections of the municipal code will also be discussed. More information is available at

The Center for Public Deliberation will provide table facilitators and live polling to facilitate a gathering of opinions and constructive conversations among participants. Please RSVP to

This is the second Community Issues Forum hosted by the City. These forums will be held twice annually to engage residents on several current issues. Participants may be particularly interested in one issue, but will also be asked to engage on all other topics to gather broader feedback.
