High Plains Landscape Workshop 2010

The seventh annual High Plains Landscape Workshop, a fundraiser for the Gardens on Spring Creek, will provide home gardeners with ideas for creating attractive, sustainable landscapes that reflect a sense of place on Colorado’s Front Range.

The workshop will be held from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM., Saturday, February 27 at the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive.

Featured speaker, Marcia Tatroe, will present “Design and Evolution of a Garden” to help demystify the garden design process - whether you’re starting with bare ground or renovating an existing landscape. You’ll earn how to choose and place landscape elements such as walks, arbors and walls, deal with problems like erosion and lack of privacy, select the best plants for your site, and adapt to changing needs over time.

Attendees can choose to attend two of three one-hour programs: “Hardy Succulents” by Gwen Kelaidis; “Plants We Need to Use More” by Tom Throgmorton; and “Cultivating a Sustainable Kitchen Garden” by Susan Tweit.

Registration is $35, including lunch; $40 after February 17.

Workshop information and registration materials are available at https://www.fcgov.com/highplains or by calling the Gardens on Spring Creek at (970)416-2486.
