Police Investigate Serious Motorcycle & Car Crash

Released on Friday, October 17, 2025

On October 17, 2025, at approximately 2:19 pm, Fort Collins Police were notified of a serious, two-vehicle collision in the 6200 block of South College Ave. When police arrived on scene, they located the two vehicles involved, a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle and a 2002 Ford Explorer, in middle of the roadway. The motorcycle was occupied by a single rider, and the Ford Explorer was occupied only by the driver. The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Due to the severity of the collision, the Fort Collins Police CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to take over the investigation. To this point, the investigation has revealed that the Ford Explorer was turning from a driveway access on College Avenue and the Suzuki motorcycle was northbound on College Avenue.

Northbound College Avenue was shut down from Triangle Drive to Skyway Drive while investigators processed the scene. Police are investigating if speed and/or impairment played a role in the crash. “Our team of investigators is diligently working to gather information and provide answers for the families affected by today’s serious crash,” said Sergeant David Lindsay who oversees the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team.

Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to contact Fort Collins Police Officer Scott Maher at (970) 221 6540.
