City of Fort Collins 2025 Transformer Cabinet Mural Season!

The City of Fort Collins Transformer Cabinet Mural Program Announces its 2025 Season Artists

The City of Fort Collins Transformer Cabinet Mural Program was started in 2004 as a collaboration between the City of Fort Collins Art in Public Places Program and Utilities Light and Power. Serving as a graffiti abatement program, the murals help lower maintenance costs while adding bright colorful art in unexpected places. The program also helps keep the investment local by utilizing local artists and non-profit groups to paint the cabinets.

The program brings original artwork by local artists to the community for residents and visitors to enjoy. The program has painted 437 Transformer Cabinet Murals to date and has been replicated in many cities across the state and country.

The program further engages the public with Community Collaboration Murals. Through these special projects, selected artists engage with members of the community (e.g. schools, neighborhoods, non-profit organizations) to design and/or paint the murals. This season artist Larry Tucci will work with students from Poudre Global Academy and artist Cheslea Ermer will work with the Habitat for Humanity community in creating their assigned cabinet murals.
