FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Fort Collins will celebrate its 37th annual Summer Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 25, with morning stations hosted by local businesses and organizations from 6:30-9:30 a.m. and afternoon stations hosted from 4-6 p.m.

Held each June during Colorado Bike Month, Bike to Work Day encourages community members to leave their cars behind and hop on a bike—whether commuting to work, running errands or simply enjoying a ride. The event is known for its vibrant community spirit, with free breakfast stations placed along bike routes around town and widespread support for Fort Collins’ nationally recognized bike-friendly culture.

“Bike to Work Day is a chance for our community to come together and experience the fun and freedom of getting around by bike,” City of Fort Collins Active Modes Specialist AnnMarie Kirkpatrick said. “It’s a welcoming event for riders of all ages and experience levels, and a great way to connect with neighbors while promoting sustainable transportation.”

What to Expect

Participants can expect:

  • Free breakfast at stations citywide, available while supplies last. Each station offers something different, from pastries and coffee to more hearty fare.
  • More than 90 stations to explore.
  • Camaraderie along the City’s extensive trail and bikeway system, with waves, high-fives and conversations from fellow riders.
  • Bike repair support, with several stations offering free bike checks and minor adjustments from local bike mechanics.
  • Inclusivity, welcoming both seasoned cyclists and first-time riders. No experience is necessary to participate.
  • Safety first, with reminders to follow local biking laws and etiquette, such as yielding to pedestrians, signaling turns and observing the 15 mph trail courtesy speed limit.

Participants are encouraged to plan for the weather.

Recognized by the League of American Bicyclists, Fort Collins is one of just five communities in the U.S. to hold Platinum Bicycle Friendly Community status.
